Project Engineer at Lagos Water Corporation (LWC)

Human Capital Partners (HCP) – Our client, Lagos Water Corporation (LWC), a Lagos State government agency, is the primary provider of clean water to over 18 million people in Lagos State, Nigeria. Founded in 1910 with the construction of the Iju Waterworks, the company has expanded its operations to meet the growing demand for drinking water. LWC’s installed water production capacity is currently 210 million gallons per day (MGD), which is below demand. In response, LWC developed the Lagos Water Supply Master Plan, which aims to increase production capacity to 745 MGD.

As part of its efforts to strengthen its operations and improve service delivery, the company is recruiting for the following position:

Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and results-oriented Project Manager to plan, implement, and monitor water infrastructure projects.

The ideal candidate will ensure projects are completed on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards.

This position is critical to the company’s objective: to develop and improve the water supply in Lagos State.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, project management, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of project management experience, preferably in water infrastructure or utility projects.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of the dynamics and regulatory requirements of the water sector is an advantage.
  • Professional project management certifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) are an advantage.
  • Solid knowledge of project management methods, tools, and software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
